Defend your data with the Aegis Secure Key 8GB 3NX Encrypted USB 3.1 Flash Drive from Apricorn. Featuring read and write speeds up to 77 and 72 MB/s, respectively, the 3NX allows you to quickly import and transfer data. Additionally, this drive also sports hardware-based 256-Bit AES XTS encryption for protecting stored data. The polymer-coated keypad is designed to be wear-resistant, preventing buttons from betraying signs of repeated use, thus further protecting your login information from would-be compromises. Incorporating a small battery in its design, the drive allows a PIN to be entered prior to insertion. In the event of a brute-force attack, the Apricorn 3NX deletes its encryption key after a set number of failed login attempts.
Separate Admin and User modes on the 3NX allow for tailored access, including read/write or read-only modes. Both Admin and User modes require programmable PINs from 7 to 16 digits in length, and the PINs must be set up before using the drive, as it lacks a factory-default PIN. The Admin mode can be used to override user-set permissions, or to access User mode. Additionally, the Admin mode can be utilized to reset the drive, and an automatic lock feature secures the 3NX when removed from a USB port or during a period of inactivity. The Aegis Secure Key 3NX is deployed in an IP67 aluminum enclosure designed to ward off dust and water. Internally, the drive includes a hard epoxy resin intended to prevent tampering with the encryption circuitry. This USB drive requires neither drivers nor software and will work with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and Symbian operating systems.
USB 3.2 Gen 1
USB 3.2 Gen 1 features a maximum throughput of 5 Gb/s and is synonymous with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0.
Brute-Force Defense
Limiting the number of possible failed attempts, the Aegis Secure Key 3NX erases the encryption key in the event of a brute-force attack. The limit for failed login attempts can be set in the Admin mode and can range from 4 to 20. Once half of the limit has been reached, the drive automatically locks itself from further attempts, requiring an Admin-enabled "LastTry" code before allowing the remaining login attempts.
Self-Destruct PIN
When compromised, the Aegis Secure Key 3NX can be rendered unreadable by way of a Self-Destruct PIN. This Admin-designated sequence will erase the cipher key used in the encryption, rendering data inaccessible.
Auto-Lock Override
When using the drive during reboot or with a virtual machine, the auto-lock feature can be overridden to ignore renumbering or power loss to the USB port.
PIN Guard and Recovery PINs
Using a function called PIN Guard, the Aegis Secure Key 3NX will recognize isolated, accidental button presses and power down the drive, preventing battery depletion. Furthermore, this USB drive can be programmed with up to four one-time-use recovery PINs.
