Use the steps:

3. the measurement:
Use a soft cloth to wipe the surface of the prism and cover, opened the cover, take 2 to 3 drops of test solution was dropped on the refractive prism, Close the lid gently press the flat, which do not have air bubbles, and then read eyepiece blue boundary relative scale, namely the content of the measured liquid (mostly percentage, 0-10% per thousand salinity meter for specific gravity).
